Task: to develop an event’s visual branding system, based on a song
Inspired by a song from Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns soundtrack, I created Turning Turtle Carnival. This family-focused event will be hosted by UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh and its purpose is to bring joy back into the lives of children whose lives have been emotionally flipped upside down because of a medical diagnosis of Crohn’s Disease or Colitis.
A lyric from the song says, “When the world turns upside down, the best thing is turn right around with it.” Together, Turning Turtle’s brand elements, advertising poster, mailable invitation, and event kit create a cohesive campaign, inviting families to a carnival that will turn their upside-down world “flippity flop” and fill it with joy and laughter once again.
